Things I Wont Miss About Home
1. Dog Hairs.
2. Relying on a car to get me anywhere.
3. Spending money on petrol to get me anywhere.
4. Living in a house full of girls.
5. Early weekend mornings for coaching, although I'll miss the players.

Great typograher and graphic designer. First found him from his work for Nike, but has done lots of impressive digital work.

Information Is Beautiful

Another brilliant website. A group that visualises information through graphic design. They have produced two books, I've got 'Information Is Beautiful' and it's one of my favourites.

BBC X 365
http://bbcx365.com/
One of my favourite websites over the past few months. Johnny Selman, an American graphic designer, produces a basic but provoking poster each day based on the BBC USA news website. I tried doing my own versions from my own news stories for a period of a month, here are some of his more recent ones.

Exhibition - Design Museum
Kenneth Grange - Incredible British designer, such a wide range of products. Also one of the founding members of one of my favourite design groups, Pentagram.
Exhibition - Tate Modern
Jannis Kounellis - Not my usual choice of work, definitely shocks the viewer!
John Heartfield - Another example of shocking work from an exhibition.
A few more examples of work that grabbed my eye from the Tate -

A Photographer I Admire...
Bob Martin - Sports Photographer. Have followed this photographer for a few years now, as he doesn't just produce the typical back page shots for a sports section. I have passions for both sport and art too, a combination that isn't regularly mixed!
The photo I've chosen is from the Barcelona '92 Olympics. It shows sporting beauty through the precision and technical ability of the diver, with the backdrop of the beautiful city of Barcelona. I am a huge fan of the Olympic games and also loved Barcelona when I visited, especially the iconic Gaudi cathedral in the background.

Magma
Inspiring book from a trip to Magma - Data Flow
Amazing book displaying the visualisation of information through graphic design. Having bought 'Information Is Beautiful' last year, I have taken a really strong interest in information graphics. Data Flow uses lots of similar techniques, and is presented in such a clean cut method. I enjoy art/graphics a lot more when I know there is a meaning or purpose behind the work.
